Welcome Home

My husband Paul and I bought our first house together back in October of 2007, a 1950's 2bedroom/2 bath house with a gorgeous tropical backyard,eight blocks from the beach. We started our dream home renovation immediately, but the process was far from a dream, far from perfect. The house looked great from the outside, but once we started digging around the house all it's dirty, expensive little secrets began bubbling up. Bad plumbing , bad electrical and a bad headache were a few of the things that made this little renovation project, first projected to be 4 months long, turned into our version of the year long money pit.
We were lucky enough to be living in a condo while this was done, all the stress plus living in a half destroyed house would have taken a toll into our new and very happy, year long relationship.We finally moved, a year and a half after we started. Two years later, regardless of all the pain, the end product and our reality is more beautiful than we had envisioned. We love our home more and more each day. Decorating, gardening and landscaping are new hobbies.
We still have some work to do, (what House doesn't) but it is now a place we can call more than a home - its a practically a retreat.Here are some before and after pictures.
